Building Belonging Beyond Campus

University Should Not have to feel lonely

Room Enough helps students build steady, meaningful connection with local households through shared meals, conversation, and simple hospitality.

Room Enough is designed to address one of the most pressing and under-recognized challenges facing university students today: loneliness and social isolation.

While campuses provide strong academic and clinical supports, many students—especially those who are new to the city, commuting, or international—lack consistent, meaningful community.

Building Belonging

Room Enough responds by creating structured, low-barrier connections between students and local households. During the 2026–27 academic year, we are matching 10 students with 10 families, facilitating regular shared meals, informal gatherings, and ongoing relational support. The goal is not to provide services, but to foster genuine, sustained connections that build a sense of belonging.

STUDENTS Deserve COMMUNITY

Not Just Services

For Students

University can be exciting, but it can also be lonely. Room Enough connects students with local households who are willing to share meals, conversation, and ordinary life. This is not counselling, housing, or a religious program. It is a chance to build steady, low-pressure connection with people who want you to feel at home in Ottawa.

Become A Host

Hosts are local households who are willing to make room at the table. You do not need to be perfect, polished, or entertaining. You need to be welcoming, consistent, and willing to share a meal or simple gathering with a student over the academic year. All host households will complete screening, orientation, and ongoing check-ins.
